Are the Levellers' ideas about rights still applicable today?

Introduction

UN logo The ideas of 'right' have a long track record in History and are a key idea in Citizenship. The two lessons on this topic track the thinking from the Levellers through to the UN declaration of Human Rights and encourage students to think about the rights that they consider to be important.

The lessons are aimed at Key Stage 3 students and follow work on the Civil Wars of the 17th century.
