Maths: Data Handling: the UK population

Rationale

This data handing activity can combine a variety of aspects of using and applying, number and data handling.

It can be adapted to work on data from your local area and make comparisons with national data. Links to National Statistics are included so different data can be selected.

The activity can be paper based or provide practice for using Excel or other data handling packages.

By working with this data students will develop an understanding of the structure of the UK population and be able to consider issues of identity.
