Activity 3 - What is animal research?

Animal research takes place for all sorts of reasons. They include advancing scientific knowledge, studying disease, developing medicines and assessing the safety of chemicals. This activity helps students to understand the different types of research and testing, consider their relative importance and come up with criteria for the use of animals in different types of research.
