Citizenship through Maths
There are a number of areas of maths which make a valuable contribution to Citizenship. Numerical relationships are at the heart of Citizenship because they help to explain many of the issues which interest students.
This group of lessons, which has been developed for maths teachers by maths teachers, looks at dealing with data, solving numerical problems, percentages and a range of other concepts and tools.
The lessons are in the context of topics including food miles, tax payers and the make up of UK population, all prime areas for the use of maths as it helps students to understand what’s going on.
