The use of animals in research: resources for schools

Resources for Science and Citizenship lessons

Resources for Science and Citizenship lessons

These materials will help students make informed decisions about their views on the use of animals in research.

In Citizenship the resources provide a context for looking at pressure groups, the media, or a current controversial issue which provides a basis for ethical discussion. In Science the resources could provide an applied dimension to the study of the nervous system.

There are individual starters, activities, plenaries, and an assessment exercise which can be dropped into your lessons or used as a whole according to your programmes of study. See Suggested pathways.
